Food Is Fuel, Not Therapy

We have all been through emotional eating. Emotional eating is when we eat a large quantity of food in response to how we feel as opposed to actually being hungry. The food we eat is normally comfort food.

We should as ourselves a few questions:

  1. Did I deprive myself of food that I enjoy?
  2. Am I feeling tired?
  3. Do I mentally need a break?
  4. Am I going through a situation that I need to protect myself from?

We need to stop blaming ourselves and actually allow ourselves to feel these emotions and that when our body reaches out to us in regards to emotional eating it is in fact trying to communicate to us what it needs and that we need to listen and learn and assess what is actually going on at the present time.

Whatever the problem is, the answer is not in the fridge.
