It Is Okay

Today is teen mental health day.  

One in seven teenagers develop mental illness. 

This is a crucial time for developing emotional habits so it is important to be aware of the factors that can affect mental health such as stress, pressure to conform with friends, social media, quality of home life and much more. 

It is important to ensure that we adopt healthy eating habits, good sleeping, problem solving skills, communication and learning to manage emotions so that we can ensure that our teenagers get the best out of their adolescence. 

A few things to remember if you are struggling are:

  1. It is okay to not be okay
  2. You will smile again
  3. Don’t be hard on yourself
  4. One step at a time
  5. Asking for help is not weakness
